Ronaldo is ranked the world's second-richest footballer, a few bucks short of Lionel Messi.

Messi beats his rival to become number one on the Top 10 highest earners chart published by the popular magazine France Football.

The magazine took into account all of the players' revenues, not just the money they collect from their clubs. Messi's earnings are estimated to be worth 125 million euros, while Ronaldo's earnings are worth 118 million euros falling a tad behind. The good news is they are the only men on this list with 9-digit numbers, with Neymar rounding out the podium with only 98 million.

In terms of money, the Top 3 are in a league of their own, while the next player on the list, Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, receives 37 million per year. The Welsh were followed by Andres Iniesta (34 million), a Barcelona legend who is now involved in Japan. Eden Hazard, Raheem Sterling, and Kylian Mbappé are all in 6th position with 32 million a year, right behind the Spaniard. Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich is in ninth place with 30 million. At the same time, Antoine Griezmann and Kevin De Bruyne are tied for tenth place with 28 million – but the Belgian star is projected to climb the ranks following his recent contract extension with Manchester City.
