From the iconic quiz episode remake to the ultimate Friends-themed fashion show, we pin down some of the best moments from the grand Friends Reunion

It is hard to believe that it's been almost two decades since the last episode of Friends aired on world television. What is even more unbelievable is that the sitcom is still hugely entertaining the world, with its same fresh dynamic as good as new. Now the American sitcom has again broken the television history by finally releasing the much-anticipated Friends Reunion, named 'The One Where They Get Back Together.'
The Reunion special, which is now streaming on HBO Max since May 27, 2021, has set fans on the edge of delight. The Reunion featured all the six lead cast members - Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer. The special episode also gave the fans a glimpse of the beloved friends: Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross. With a mixture of emotions, laughter, and memories, the Friends Reunion hit us right through with its heartwarming moments and segments. Without further ado, let's go through some of the most unforgettable moments from the Friends Reunion that left us joyfully emotional.
1. Lisa Kudrow and Lady Gaga sing 'Smelly Cat'
The reprise of Phoebe's famous 'Smelly Cat' song performed by Lisa Kudrow and Lady Gaga, who played Phoebe on the show, came as a happy surprise to the fans worldwide. The song 'Smelly Cat' was first introduced in the show as Phoebe's original song and even got to shoot a ditzy music video for the song after it went huge. The track turned out to be one of the most celebrated signatures of the show, and the Reunion special just made it even more special by creating the 'Smelly Cat' reprise. The guest appearance of pop singer Lady Gaga has effortlessly made the whole performance into a lovely jam session!
After the Reunion aired, Lisa Kudrow admitted she was pretty nervous about performing the song with Lady Gaga. Kudrow also confessed that she googled the chords of 'Smelly Cat' to prepare for the bit.
2. Guest Appearances of the Geller parents, Janice, Richard and more
What's so special with a Friends Reunion without Richard's moustache and Gunther's coffee machine and the annoying voice of Janice across the hallway? Well, good for us as the Reunion special came up with a lot of surprise appearances from some of the Friends' memorable characters that featured Tom Selleck (Richard), James Michael Tyler (Gunther), Maggie Wheeler (Janice), Elliot Gould and Christina Pickles (Jack Geller and Judy Geller). During her cameo in the Reunion, Maggie Wheeler even managed to pull off a 'Janice' by adopting the iconic voice of Janice in the show. There was also an unpredicted appearance by Larry Hankin, who portrayed Mr Heckles that lived below Monica (Courtney Cox) and Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) apartment.
Although the Reunion showcased Janice, Richard and the others, the fans seemed concerned for the absence of unforgettable characters like Mike Hannigan and Ben, played by Paul Rudd and Cole Sprouse.
3. Remake of the Quiz episode
This legendary quiz segment of the Reunion was genuinely the most exciting and memorable experiences for both the cast and the fans worldwide. The quiz episode named The One With The Embryos was the quiz that made Monica and Rachel give up their apartment to Chandler and Joey. The Apartment Switch Quiz made a thrilling comeback to the Reunion with all the six cast members trying to answer a series of questions related to the show, with David Schwimmer being the moderator, of course!
Although this brings back the funny, chaotic side of friends, the remake of the quiz isn't accurate to the actual one on the show. Unlike the original ending with the boys winning the game, it's the girls who win the quiz this time. Another addition to the Reunion version of the game was that Lisa Kudrow was in it, unlike the original episode. Anyways, the cast members seemed to be having so much fun while answering the questions and had a good laugh about it. The guest stars Tome Selleck and Larry Hankin also made their cameo in the Reunion as a part of the quiz!
4. David Schwimmer's crush on Jennifer Aniston!
It comes of no doubt that Ross and Rachel were one of the most beloved couples in Friends (after Chandler and Monica, of course!). The sitcom naturally proved that David Schwimmer (Ross) and Jennifer Aniston (Rachel) had great chemistry as a romantic pair in the first few seasons. That's when the creators of Friends thought of developing the duo into one of the central romance plots.
During the interview session in the Reunion special, James Corden asked the cast members if there were any off-screen romance within the cast over ten years of the show. Well, thanks to Corden for asking that, David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston revealed that they were crushing on each other big-time during the first season. While watching the behind-the-scenes of the show with the cast, Schwimmer said, "how did not everyone know that we were crushing on each other?". He also said that they never dated as either one of them was always in a committed relationship, and they never crossed that boundary. Although the world never knew about it, the six cast members knew about their crushes from the beginning. Anyways, now that we know it, this might be one of the biggest bombshells from the Friends Reunion!
5. Friends-themed Fashion Show
Recreating some of the unforgettable looks on Friends, the Fashion Show gave us a heartwarming treat on the Reunion. Rachel's poofy pink gown, Ross's tight leather pants, Joey wearing all of Chandler's clothes were some of the looks that made a comeback on the special. Supermodel Cara Delevigne dressed up in Rachel's pink gown and Ross's Holiday Armadillo costume. Cindy Crawford, who is also a supermodel, dressed up as Ross in his leather pants. Justin Bieber dressed up as Doody, Ross's Halloween costume in one of the episodes. Finally, Matt LeBlanc dressed up as Joey, wearing all of Chandler's clothes. LeBlanc even lunged with all of it on, just like the original episode, making all of it funnier than ever!
